She was born on August 13, 2000 to Donald Eric Zimmer and Kelly Joan (Grimm) Zimmer in Columbia, South Carolina. Kasey brought joy and kindness into every life she touched.A graduate of McKinney Boyd High School in 2018, Kasey proudly went on to earn her bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in business administration from the University of Texas. She was a bright spirit and a dedicated friend, always ready to lend an ear or share a laugh. Her time at Stonebridge United Methodist Church in McKinney enriched both her life and the lives of those around her.She took immense joy in the little things in life; pretzels, a morning routine, family game night, any restaurant that served bread and butter, and that joy was contagious. Kasey loved to play and coach tennis. She loved spending summers at Kentucky Lake with her grandparents. She was the best and bravest snowboarder in the family. However, her favorite interest of all was whatever you were interested in. Always supportive, genuine, and a true friend.She was the definition of dichotomy; soft-spoken and kind but incredibly stubborn. Pacifist to a fault, unless it was a friend or family member in trouble where she immediately transformed into their fiercest warrior. The first to laugh with you and the first to cry with you. Humble about her own accomplishments and boastful of yours, she always thought of others first.Kasey will be remembered as a loving daughter, beloved sister, a cherished granddaughter, and true friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.Kasey is survived by her mother, Kelly Zimmer of McKinney, Texas; father, Donald Eric Zimmer of Plano, Texas; brother, Alex Zimmer of Austin, Texas; sister, Katie Joan Zimmer of McKinney, Texas; grandfather Stephen Grimm; grandmothers Joan Grimm and Rose Zimmer; her beloved dog Eleanor "Ellie Mae"; and a host of other loving family members and friends.Rest in peace, dear Kasey. You will forever remain in our hearts. We hope to honor her spirit and the beautiful moments we shared with her.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Stonebridge United Methodist Church, 1800 South Stonebridge Drive, McKinney, Texas 75072.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to either the SPCA or Stonebridge United Methodist Church in McKinney.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
