Karl Grupp

Karl Eugene “Buzzy” Grupp, 73, of Port Allegany, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Olean General Hospital in New York.

Born on February 22, 1953, in Coudersport, he was the son of the late Karl Ernst and Elizabeth Neefe Grupp. A 1972 graduate of Coudersport High School, Buzzy worked for many years at Pure Carbon, now known as Morgan AMT, in Coudersport until his retirement. He proudly served his community as a past assistant chief and life member of the Coudersport Fire Department and as an EMT with the Coudersport Ambulance.

Buzzy cherished his family above all and found great joy in spending time with them. He also loved being outdoors. He is survived by his longtime companion of 37 years, Corilynn Kio, with whom he made his home in Port Allegany; his daughter, Amanda L. Grupp of Florida, and her son, Brysen; his son, Ryan K. (Cassidy) Grupp of Coudersport, and their son, Joel; his stepdaughter, Brandi Kio of Roulette; his stepsons, Aaron “A.J.” Mahon and Dustin Mahon, both of Port Allegany; eight step-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother.
