She was born on April 3, 1943, in Sewickley, PA.She is survived by her daughter, Susan Hervey Bleyaert of Fenton, Michigan; her sisters, Kathleen H. Brown (Doug), Debra Ceyrolles Kowalski (Dave), and Diane C. Douglas (Jamie); her brother, Milton Weisman (Melissa Carns); and many beloved nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Schnor Ceyrolles; her stepfather, William Ceyrolles; her father, Jerome Weisman; and her son-in-law, John K. Bleyaert.Karen was an avid traveler and a dedicated workout enthusiast. She especially cherished her adventures abroad, making 17 memorable trips to Europe, where she found joy in exploring new places, cultures, and histories. She was also an avid cat lover, and her pets brought her comfort and companionship throughout her life. Her family will always remember her fierce independence and her deep love of reading and writing.Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to her dear friends Deb Elliott and Deanna Ferguson, whose support during her illness was a true blessing. They also wish to acknowledge Patty and Tom Francis, Pete Bennett, Dan Young, Grace and Hector Gonzalez, and Allie Gonzalez, whose friendship and kindness meant so much to her.The family is grateful to the exceptional team at the Wilmot Cancer Center, including Dr. Eva Galka, Dr. Maria McGreevy, Brenda Bagnato, NP, and Angela Berardi, RN, for their compassionate care.Services will be private.
