Karen Treasure

October 15, 1938 March 13, 2026

South Jordan, UT

Karen Kay Treasure, age 87, passed peacefully on March 13, 2026, in South Jordan, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 15, 1938, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Lyle and Lova Green, Karen grew up in Rigby, Idaho, as a cherished only child. She formed deep bonds with her parents and grandparents and spent her childhood playing with many cousins, nurturing those early family connections. In high school she thrived in student leadership and sports, already displaying the energy, competitiveness, and spirited nature that would define her throughout her life.

Karen married Lynn Treasure and together they raised two sons, Jeff and Tony, whom she loved deeply. She devoted herself to her family while building a remarkable banking career that spanned more than six decades. She worked faithfully at US Bank until her first retirement, then continued at Washington Mutual, and after a second retirement joined Zions Bank, where she finally retired in 2018. Her dedication, professionalism, and warm personality left a lasting impression on customers and colleagues alike.

In 2018, Karen moved to Utah to be closer to her son Tony and daughter-in-law Chelsey. She quickly became a beloved resident of her assisted living community, where her sharp mind and playful spirit made her the undisputed champion of cards, puzzles, and especially Bingo. An avid Utah Jazz fan, she rarely missed a game, attended many in person, and lit up with joy whenever she met the Jazz Bear. She also found great pleasure in gardening and competitive bowling, where she participated on numerous teams in the Rigby area and earned many accomplishments.

Karen is survived by her sons Jeff Treasure and Tony (Chelsey) Treasure. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Lova Green, and her grandparents, David and Mary Zundel and William and Dora Green. She will be remembered for her loyalty, quick wit, unmatched work ethic, and boundless love for her family. Karen lived with grace, strength, and an abiding sense of joy that continues in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
