Pilot Grove, MO

Karen Sue Watring, 71, of Pilot Grove, died on Monday, March 16, 2026.

She was born on November 19, 1954, in Boonville, MO, a daughter of Earl and Jeannette (Hartman) Kammerich.

On February 25, 1972, in Pilot Grove, Karen was united in marriage to Leonard Frank Watring, who survives of the home. Their marriage was a testament to love, faith, and partnership, sharing many cherished years together.

Karen dedicated much of her life to her work, serving faithfully for 32 years with Toastmasters before continuing her career with Columbia Insurance Group, where she worked for 14 years until her retirement. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built throughout her career.

She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was actively involved and at one time served with the Altar Society. Her faith was an important part of her life and guided her in her love and service to others.

Karen found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cross stitching and planting flowers, creating beauty with her hands wherever she went. She also enjoyed going on road trips—whether long journeys or just a quick drive—finding happiness in the adventure itself. One of her favorite daily rituals was watching the sunrise each morning, a quiet moment that reflected her appreciation for life.

Above all, Karen cherished her family. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her love for her family was unwavering, and she created a legacy of warmth, kindness, and devotion that will be remembered always.

Karen will be deeply missed by her loving husband, family, and all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband Frank of 54 years; three sons, Tom Watring (Amy) of Pilot Grove, Eric Watring (Ann) of Pilot Grove, Brent Watring (Mandy) of Jenks, OK; five grandchildren, Brittney James (Roy), Kasey Bleile (Hunter), Jacob Watring, Noah Watring, and Luke Watring; two great-grandchildren, Keaton and Bexleigh; two brothers, Gary Kammerich (Deanna Hodges), Kurt Kammerich (Yvonne); and one sister, Lisa Childs (Steve).

In addition to both of her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Steve Kammerich, Kent Kammerich, and Scott Kammerich.

Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clear Creek, with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m.
