Karen Sue Smith

Karen Sue Smith of Rutherfordton passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior.

She was the daughter of the late Sadie Sue Smith and W.E. Smith. Karen found great joy in gardening, tending her yard, drawing, and writing poetry. She cherished her family deeply and treasured the many dear friends with whom she spent meaningful time throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Chasidy Jaynes (Michael); her grandchildren, Teah Braun Wright (Jordan), Harley Braun, and Kelsey Osborne; her great-grandchildren, Colby Nelon, Addisyn Maxwell, and Essynce Wright; and her bonus great-grandchildren, Janiyah Wright, Peyton Wright, Khloe Wright, Zailey Goode, and Jacob Wright.
