Karen Shirley Larsen

Karen Shirley Larsen, 84, of Beloit, WI, passed away on March 10, 2026 at Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Born on January 3, 1942 in Kansasville, WI, Karen was the daughter of Wilson and Shirley (Quimby) Blodgett. A graduate of Burlington High School, she worked as a machine operator at MPC in Walworth until her retirement in 2012. She was married three times—first to Ronald Simpson, with whom she had two daughters; then to James Birdd, with whom she had a son; and finally to Robin Larsen.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Tina (Steve) Luberda of Beloit, WI; her son, Thomas Birdd of GA; her son-in-law, William Heim of Pell Lake, WI; grandchildren Danielle (Chris Bonk) Luberda, Justin (Maggie) Luberda, Tiffini, and Ian (Alyssa) Erle; great-grandchildren Leila, Gwendolyn, Jennissa, and Braxton; and sisters-in-law Sandy Blodgett and Rachel Blodgett, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Gerald and Robert Blodgett; her sisters Delores Cole and Sharon Ballard; and her daughter Tammie Heim.
