Karen Rush

1955 — 2026

Conway, SC

Karen Goodson Rush, wife of Eddie Rush, passed away on March 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Conway, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth T. Goodson, Madelyn Hatchell, and her stepfather, Mike Hatchell. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and brother-in-law Howard McMeekin.

She is survived by her two sons, Matthew Palmer and Josh Rush; three grandchildren, Phoenix Palmer, Makayla Palmer, and Cora Kate Rush; three sisters, Cathy Hucks (James) of Myrtle Beach, Delores Dickerson (Larry) and Sharon McMeekin, both of Conway; two brothers, Heith Hatchell (Kellie) of Conway and Kenny Goodson and extended family of Jacksonville, North Carolina; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. The family extends special gratitude to Winifred “Sister” Anderson.

Karen was a free spirit who never met a stranger. She lived life to the fullest, always caring for animals and people in need. Her special passions were her flowers and plants, which she could revive and nurture back to beauty, and spending time on the beach soaking up the sun. With her warm smile, contagious laughter, and what her family lovingly called “Karenisms,” she could brighten any room and bring joy to those around her. She loved her family and friends beyond measure and will be deeply missed.
