January 31, 1962— March 1, 2026
Portage, IN
It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Karen Roldan, 64, of Portage, IN on March 1, 2026.
Karen was born January 31, 1962, the daughter of Glenn and Sandra (Langton) Lembke, in Cavalier, ND and was raised in Niche, ND.
She is survived by her husband Joseph Angel and four sons, Brett Grant and his wife Ashlee, Luke Grant and his wife Amy, Jake Grant, and Dmitri Roldan. Also, her parents Glenn and Sandra Lembke, her brother Paul Lembke and her sister Maria Lembke. Along with a niece and nephews.
Karen’s greatest joy came from being a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a caregiver to her pets. She was a loyal and loving friend to several people and will be remembered and missed by many.
Karen was a devoted Born-Again Christian and her faith was one of the biggest parts of her life. She loved to read and study the Bible and worked diligently to reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Her favorite Bible Verse was Philippians 2:10-11.
Karen received an Associate’s Degree, Mortuary Science and Embalming/Embalmer from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 2008.
She was a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and writer with nearly 20 years of experience guiding families through one of life’s most emotional and challenging moments. She loved working in the funeral industry, and her compassion and genuine caring was a big part of what she contributed to so many lives over the years. Having worked in multiple States (Illinois, New Mexico, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Indiana) she has touched countless lives with caring and service that was always above and beyond what was asked, needed, or expected.
She was a published and self-published writer. Focusing on blog posts, articles, and fictional stories in these last few years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the ASPCA or a local animal shelter in her memory, as caring for animals was dear to her.
