Aker, a devoted mother and cherished friend, who left us peacefully on February 18th, 2026, at the age of 75 after a long battle with cancer.Karen was born on December 17, 1950, in Covington, KY to Roy and Juanita Grimes. From an early age, she embodied kindness, strength, and determination-qualities that would define her life and touch everyone fortunate enough to know her.She is survived by her daughter Irene (James) Marsh, son Michael R. Aker, Grandchildren – Reagan, Alexis & Piper McDonald, Kristina & Erika Marsh, and Michael D. Aker, her sister – Sharon (Bill) Schiman, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Michael E. Aker.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shared Harvest Foodbank of Fairfield, an organization that she frequently gave to.A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 8th at Westside Brewing, 3044 Harrison Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45211 between 1 – 4pm. Children are welcome.Though our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the time we shared with her. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
