Justina Macias de Coronado passed away on March 9, 2026, at the age of 95. She was born on July 21, 1930, in Jocotepec, Jalisco, Mexico, and came to the United States in the 1950s, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work. She was married for nearly 50 years to her beloved husband, Cleofas Coronado, who preceded her in death in July 2000.
Justina worked for over 30 years in the agricultural fields picking strawberries and later in the cannery industry. Even while laboring long hours to support her household, she devoted herself to raising and caring for her family. Her strength, dedication, and sacrifices created a better life for her children and those who followed.
Above all, she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. A woman of deep faith, Justina believed strongly in God and lived that faith daily through her prayers and the compassionate way she cared for others. Family always came first; she welcomed relatives and friends into her home with warmth and kindness, often expressing her love through the meals she shared.
She is survived by her seven children, Sylvester, Justina, Hermilo, Cruz, Beatriz, Laura, and Rachael; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way; as well as two stepchildren, Christina and Juan; fourteen step-grandchildren; and many step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleofas Coronado; two of her children, Lucina Coronado, who passed away as an infant, and her son Issac Jose Cleofas Coronado, who passed away at the age of 68 in August 2025; and her granddaughter Stefany Coronado, who also passed away as an infant. Her life of love, sacrifice, and faith leaves a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
