Justin Neal Avirett, age 42, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in Stony Creek, Virginia. Born on December 19, 1983, in Winter Haven, Florida, he was the son of Robert Hullen Avirett and Mary Elizabeth Hadden Avirett. A resident of Sebring since 1987, Justin worked as a framing carpenter, butcher, and cook, and was a longtime attendee of Grace Bible Church.
He is survived by his mother, Mary “Beth” Bateman, and stepfather, Eddie Bateman; his siblings, Joe Avirett and his wife Sandra of Lake Wales, Tianja Ortkiese-Comer and her husband Brian of Daytona, Stacy Quinn and her husband Patrick of Avon Park, Michael Avirett and his wife Kathy of Sebring, Shawn Avirett and his partner Rocio Bailey of Sebring, and Jennifer Bateman and her partner Michael Snapko of Polk City; and many nieces and nephews who brought him great joy. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Buddy” Avirett, and his brother, Bobby Avirett.
Justin was an avid outdoorsman who cherished fishing, hunting, firearms, knives, and the companionship of his dogs, Bear and Gunner. A skilled butcher and cook, he expressed his love for family and friends by preparing meals for them. He was also a gifted artist who created prints for loved ones and enjoyed tattoo artistry as a hobby. His online poker community brought him countless friendships filled with laughter and connection. Those who knew him will remember his long-winded stories and unmistakable goofy laugh, and the deep love he gave and received.
