Junior was born October 09, 1952 at Carty Branch in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late D.M. and Evon Jackson Carty.Survived by his wife, Charlotte Miller Carty, one son, Derek Carty of Lexington, Kentucky, one daughter, Julie and husband Paul Sexton of Lexington, Kentucky, one sister, Gwen Short of Knott County, Kentucky, two grandchildren, Shelby Sexton, and Lydia Sexton.In addition to his parents, Junior is preceded in death by one daughter, Stephanie Carty, and one brother, Anthony Carty.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 12, 2026 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Craig Yates officiating. Burial will follow in the Carty-Craft Cemetery at Carty Branch in Salyersville, Kentucky.
