June Marshall

June 1, 1944 March 14, 2026

Poland, OH

June Marshall, 81, of Poland formerly Liberty, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Shepherd of the Valley in Poland, Ohio.

June was born on June 1, 1944, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Michael and Caroline (Kimberly) Marino.

A graduate of Rayen High School, June embarked upon a career that underscored her devotion to her community. She served with distinction as a dispatcher for the Liberty Police Department, where her professionalism and dedication were evident day-to-day. Additionally, she worked as a loss prevention officer at Hills Department Store in Liberty, continuing her efforts to ensure community safety. Her commitment to law enforcement was formally recognized in 2025 when she was honored as an honorary Police Officer in Beaver Township, a testament to her exemplary service.

June was a long-standing and active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Youngstown and Trinity Lutheran Church in Girard. Her faith guided much of her life’s work; she served as a Deacon, distributed communion to shut-ins, and was an integral part of the church choir. Furthermore, June contributed as a Sunday School teacher and was a valued participant in Bible study groups. Her devotion to her church communities was a cornerstone of her identity.

Beyond her service and faith commitments, June was known for her love of baking and cake decorating, the quiet challenge of puzzles, and the enriching fellowship of Bible study. These interests enriched her personal life and provided joy to those who knew her.

June Marshall is survived by her children: Daniel J. (Cari) Marshall of Virginia, Deborah (John) Ciavarella of Boardman, John (Susan) Marshall of Niles, and Anthony (Colleen) Marshall of North Lima. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: John (Hayley) Ciavarella Jr., Diane (Daniel) Bond, Michael Marshall, Lydia (Andy) Marshall-Hacker, Morgan Marshall (fiancé Cameron Maloney), Sophia Marshall, and Anthony Marshall Jr. (fiancé Emily Boyarko). Her legacy extends further through her great-grandchildren Kendal, Landon, Mackenzie, Geneva, and Colton. June is also survived by her sister, Roseann (Larry) Pace.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Marshall Sr., and her sister, Anita Yavorsky.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 18th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, with a funeral service to follow beginning at 12:00 p.m.

June will be laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery next to her husband.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in June's memory.
