He was 62 years old.Danny was born on November 9, 1963, in Montevideo, Uruguay. At just four years old, he immigrated to the United States with his parents on June 29, 1968, and was raised in Queens and Wantagh, New York. He carried a deep love for New York his entire life, and anyone who knew him knew he was a proud Mets fan through and through. Danny was also a diehard Elvis Presley fan who delighted in dressing up in glittered Elvis jumpsuits, each one lovingly handmade by his talented aunt, Mabel.Danny had a gift for bringing people together, especially through food. He showed his love by intricately preparing Italian meals and sharing them with new and old friends alike. He spoke proudly and often about his children and his granddaughters, Carly and Celina, who brought him immeasurable joy. Danny also carried a deep empathy for those experiencing homelessness. He always made eye contact with those most in need and extended a kind word of hope, a small gesture that reflected the size of his heart.Danny was preceded in death by his father, Julio Cesar Abreu. He is survived by his mother, Maria Delia Maciel Abreu; his sister, Julissa Abreu; his sons, Daniel Aaron Abreu and Andrew Stephen Abreu; his daughters, Lisa Marie Abreu and Daniella McElroy; and his beloved granddaughters.Danny now rests in the arms of the Lord he faithfully loved.
