Julie Ann Smith

Julie Ann Smith, age 77, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Born on January 27, 1949, to Wilfred and Viola (Thompson) Brenegan in Albert Lea, Julie grew up in her hometown and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1967. She began her career at Ventura Foods shortly after graduation and remained with the company for 45 years until her retirement. She continued to reside in Albert Lea for the rest of her life.

Julie took great pleasure in keeping her home clean and in traveling. She especially cherished several trips to Las Vegas with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Kuethe (Zack Jensen); grandchildren, Katelyn Smith (Cody Knudsen), Trevor Kuethe, and Alex Kuethe; great-grandchild, Markie Knudsen; siblings, Rita Brenegan, Gene (Bonna) Brenegan, and Mark Brenegan; nephews, Jason Brenegan and Timothy John Brenegan; and nieces, Marcie Gaylor and Katie Erickson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Brenegan.
