Julian Wesley Hall, Jr.

Julian Wesley Hall, Jr.

March 31, 1941 March 10, 2026

Lawrenceville, GA

Julian Wesley Hall, Jr., known lovingly as Wes, passed away peacefully at his home in Lawrenceville on March 10, 2026. Born on March 31, 1941, in Columbia, South Carolina, he was the son of Julian and Marie Hall. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1960 and earned his degree from the University of South Florida in 1975.

Wes met the love of his life, Billie Sue Cooper of LaFayette, while they were both attending Reinhardt College. They married in 1962 and shared 63 years of deep devotion, partnership, and family life. Throughout his career, he worked in chemistry and engineering for Westinghouse and Siemens, retiring in 2000. In retirement, he embraced with great joy the role he cherished most, that of Granddaddy to his beloved granddaughters Julie Anna, Lauren, and Christina.

A man of many interests, Wes generously shared his knowledge with those he loved. He taught family members to play chess and poker, helped them identify local birds, and made patient attempts to tutor his grandchildren in chemistry and algebra. As the family historian, he carefully traced the Hall lineage back to the pre-Civil War era, preserving stories and connections that he delighted in passing down. Quiet by nature, Wes expressed his love through patience, knowledge, and steady presence.

He is survived by his wife, Billie Sue; his sons Julian (Chip) Hall III and his wife Terrie, and Andy Hall and his wife Marcia; his granddaughters Julie Anna, Lauren, and Christina; his sister Marilyn; and his nephew Kenneth and nieces Linda and Lisa.
