Julian "Jack" Albert Dickerson
June 10, 1944— March 6, 2026
Versailles, KY
Julian Albert “Jack” Dickerson passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. Born on June 10, 1944, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, he was the son of Stanley and Elise Dickerson.
A dedicated patriot, Jack served in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. He continued a lifelong commitment to public service as a firefighter with the Atlantic City Fire Department, a police officer with the Morehead Police Department, and a code enforcement officer with the Fayette Urban County government. Known for his intelligence, integrity, and deep devotion to his family, he was a steady and honorable presence in the lives of those who knew him.
He is survived by his closest friend and confidante, Delia Dickerson; his three children, James (Tammy) McMonigle, Kathi Hilsen, and Jennifer (David) Gibson; six grandchildren, Trey, Sara, Lauren, Kessler, Kylie, and Ariel; his brother Stanley (Helen) Dickerson; his sister Cecelia Hessler; and his niece Debbie. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard “Andy” Dickerson.
Jack, lovingly called Poppy by his family, always placed his loved ones first. He never settled for “good enough” for those he cherished and continually encouraged them to live with the same honor and purpose that defined his own life. He was dearly loved and will remain forever in their hearts.
