Julia Lee Ferguson, 90, of Englewood, Florida, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on March 25, 1935, in Washington, D.C., to Ernest Cunningham and Virginia Simpson of Clifton Forge, Virginia, she graduated from Eastern High School in 1953. A longtime member of the Englewood Methodist Church, Julia lived a life centered on family and quiet devotion.
She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, and friend. Preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael, Julia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Edward Ferguson; her children, Donna Peyton, Terri Peyton, Kaibni Peyton (Lisa), and Ed Ferguson Jr. (Cynthia); seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Emmett Cunningham (Elaine), and her sister, Mary Foraker (Larry).
Julia’s warm smile could light up a room, and her kind heart ensured she never met a stranger. Her legacy of love, strength, and loyalty will remain with her family and all who were fortunate to know her.
