Julia Buckalew Jackson

Julia Buckalew Jackson, known affectionately as Julie, passed away on March 9, 2026, at McLeod Health Clarendon at the age of 74. Born on September 4, 1951, in Columbia, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Emily Arden Spigner Buckalew and the late Alman Lamar Buckalew. She was the widow of Julius L. (Sparky) Jackson Jr.

Julie devoted her life to caring for and supporting her family, always placing their needs before her own. She found great joy in simple pleasures—spending time with loved ones, tending to her flowers and yard, playing tennis, and caring for her beloved animals. With a generous spirit and a warm heart, her kindness touched everyone she met.

She is survived by her daughter, Emily McCaskill (Tal); stepson, Reid Jackson (Hope); granddaughter, Maddie Day; and sister, Leila (Lee) Mancini. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alman Buckalew Jr.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
