Julia Dalbec ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Downs Funeral Home - Superior on Mar. 17, 2026.Julia "Julie" Ann Dalbec, 85, of Superior, died Sunday March 15, 2026, at Villa Marina Health and Rehab.Julie was born in Superior on October 22, 1940, the daughter of Lewis and Eileen (Wenger) James.She married Gerald Dalbec on August 1, 1960, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage until his death in 2011. After raising her two daughters she worked as a switchboard operator for Murphy Oil.Julie enjoyed gardening, golfing, fishing, embroidering, doing puzzles and playing cards. She was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers Fan.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; daughter, Danita Vardy; and brother, Manly James, Sr.Julie is survived by her daughter, Judy (Mike) Hagen; son-in-law, Andy Vardy; grandchildren, Chad (Brianna) Hagen, Ryan (Amanda) Hagen, Melissa and Tiffany Hagen, and Tyler and Tabitha Thompson; sister-in-law, Francie James; and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.A private family graveside service will be held at Summit Cemetery.The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Villa Marina and Aspirus Hospice for the wonderful care Julie received.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
