Judy grew up on thefamily ranch where she attended Briscoe Schools. She was in the 4H riding club and excelled in basketball, making a state tournament appearance in 1965. Judy met the love of her life, Burton Hendrix "Ricky" Woollard, Jr, at a party in Shamrock in her teen years, and after graduating from Oklahoma State University, they married in Wheeler on December 31, 1971. After living in Amarillo and Snyder, Rick and Judy moved home to Wheeler County where they raised their children, Russell Joe, Kate Ann, James Will and later on, added Bobbi Lynn.Judy had a very long career teaching Home Economics, and there is not a student that she taught that did not love Mrs. Woollard. She was FHA Sponsor and took many memorable trips to the state convention. She taught generations of kids how to sew, iron, set a table and cook. The skills she taught her students, and the love she showed them is invaluable. There is no way to express in words the magnitude of the impact she has made on this community. Judy has been a member of the Wheeler church of Christ her entire life, where she orchestrated the Care Center birthday parties and nail painting days. Judy was heavily involved in volunteer work, and among the many things she was a part of, a few include CASA Advocate and Meals on Wheels Volunteer. She was a member of the "Pink Flamingoes" book club for 24 years, and the group recently started Snack Packs for Kids at Wheeler ISD–which was something Judy wanted for years. Graciously, the Pink Flamingoes have named the organization "Judy's Snack Packs."Judy was a founding member of the infamous a capella group, The Mason Jars. The jars have been entertaining themselves all over the Texas Panhandle since 1987. Oh, the stories they could tell! Ask them about the time they sang for George W. Bush, Jr. Judy loved deeply and if you knew her, you knew her generosity, kind spirit and listening ear. If she spoke to you, she truly listened. Her quirkiness and creativeness made her a rare gem. Her love of Santa Fe and all things Southwest inspired her one of a kind style.Judy was a beloved mother, wife, aunt, sister, grandma and friend to so many. This community will not be the same without her. It will take a multitude of people to fill her shoes–a task that many are willing to step into.Lastly, and most importantly, Judy was the definition of a Christian woman. Christ was the center of her life, and her wisdom and understanding of God's word was evident in the way she spoke, lived, listened and loved. She was in constant study of the word, knowing there was always growth to be had. She was known for her prayer list that was always full, and she never ceased praying.Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Katie, her loving husband, Ricky, and her brothers, Larry and Joel.Judy Woollard is survived by her children: Russell Woollard and his wife Kara, Kate Woollard, Will Woollard and his wife Katty, and Bobbi Howe and son in law Preston. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly: Katherine Ann Marie, Ella Grace, Faydra Mae, Nicolas Cooper, Kloe Jyl, Kaiser Mac, Ryker Lee, and Christian Alexander. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to CASA of the High Plains at https:// www.casahp.org or Quilts of Valor at https:// www.qovf.orgTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
