Judy Michael

1943 — 2026

Wilmington, IL

Judy Michael, age 82, of Wilmington, Illinois, formerly of Brookfield, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

Born Judith Ann Pszczola on July 11, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, she was the daughter of Casimir and Norma (Niemand) Pszczola. Raised and educated in Lyons, Illinois, Judy graduated from Morton West High School with the Class of 1961. It was there she met Keith Orville Michael, and they married on March 16, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lyons. The couple made their home in Brookfield, where they raised their family, before relocating to Wilmington in 2004.

Judy worked devotedly for Fanny May Candies and later served as a secretary and lunch mom while her children were young. She found joy in reading, painting, drawing, and bowling. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose life centered on her family. She inspired her children, took pride in watching her daughters become strong, independent women with families of their own, and ensured every holiday and milestone was celebrated together. A constant presence at her children’s and grandchildren’s events, Judy was her family’s biggest supporter.

She is survived by her four children, Michele (Tim) Lantvit of Bolingbrook, Pamela (Richard) Tworek of Wilmington, Sheri (Brandon) Evans and Colleen (Rob) Henderson, both of Plainfield; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Veronica) Capozziello, Tyler (Elissa) Lantvit, Christopher (Alyssa) Tworek, Morgan (Nick) Lantvit, Madyson Lantvit, Nathan Tworek, Sydney Henderson, Ethan Evans, Payton Henderson, Nora Evans, Lucy Evans, and Tori Henderson; and seven great-grandchildren, Alivia and Sylvia Capozziello, Savana, Theo, and Montana Ehlen, Easton Lantvit, and Preston and Hudson Henderson. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Nadine (the late John) Pankow and Donna (the late Wayne) Holous, her brother-in-law Duane (Karen) Michael, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Keith, and her brother Raymond (Stefa) Pszczola.
