Judy Mae Pooser

Judy Mae Pooser, 77, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on March 8, 1948, in Kingstree, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Bert Alvin Dawkins and Mildred Parsons.

Judy shared a long and loving marriage with her husband, William Leroy Pooser, until his death. She possessed a creative spirit and found deep fulfillment in her artwork, through which she expressed herself with talent and joy. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family. For many years she worked as a security guard at K-Mart, where her friendly and warm personality endeared her to others. A woman of strong faith, Judy was a longtime member of Miles Road Baptist Church in Summerville, where she drew comfort and community from her church family.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Juanita Pooser and Brandon Pooser; her great-grandchildren, Amelia Fischler, Gabriela Rivera-Herrera, Payton Pooser, Brandon Pooser, Jr., and Raelynn Pooser; and her aunt, Dale Parkey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Jarrett Pooser and Jody Pooser.
