Nixa, MO

Judy Ann Lamb, age 78, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. Born on November 13, 1947, in Hooker, Oklahoma, to John and Alma Gibler, she grew up in the small community where she later attended Panhandle State College in Goodwell. There she met the love of her life, James Lamb. They married on June 7, 1968, and shared a devoted marriage until James’s passing in April 2022.

Faith was the foundation of Judy and James’s life together. Active members of the United Methodist Church in Hooker, Oklahoma, they built their home and family first in Illinois and later in Missouri, always centering their journey on faith and loved ones. Judy’s warmth, creativity, and love of home were evident in the joy she found in puzzling, scrapbooking, cooking, baking, and decorating for the holidays. Her kitchen was the heart of many gatherings, and she was especially known for her delicious homemade ice cream shared with family and friends.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Amanda Pennington; her son, James Tyler “Jamie” Lamb and his wife, Megan; and her cherished granddaughter, Nora Lamb. She is also survived by her cousins Ardena Davis and husband Merle, Kenny Hoobler and his wife Loretta, niece Jana Kaye Belding, and nephew David and Anjanette Gibler.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma Gibler; her beloved husband, James Lamb; her sister, Kathy; and her brother, DeVon. She will be remembered for her strong faith, loving heart, and the way she turned friends into family through her kindness and cherished traditions.
