Judy Ann Jenkins
November 19, 1949— March 8, 2026
Greensboro, NC
Mrs. Judy Ann Jenkins was born on November 19, 1949, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late Jacie Emma Susan Hill and the late Stonewall Foster, Sr. A graduate of Benjamin E. Mays High School, she married Willie James Jenkins on November 21, 1968. As a devoted military wife, she supported her husband throughout his naval career with strength and grace, while raising their two daughters.
For more than forty years, Judy was a master seamstress and the proud owner and operator of Judy's Sewtique in Greensboro and High Point, North Carolina. Known for her precision and meticulous attention to detail, she brought excellence to everything she did, whether sewing, baking, or caring for her home and family. Her delicious apple cakes, strawberry cakes, Key Lime cakes, and pound cakes were eagerly anticipated by all who knew her. She carried herself with elegance and dignity, always impeccably dressed and color-coordinated, and cherished her weekly gatherings with her beloved “Friday Ladies,” a close circle of friends with whom she shared lunches, brunches, movies, and laughter for more than a decade.
Judy loved old-school music and dancing, and she found great joy in quiet moments at home watching westerns with her husband. Above all, she treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. A faithful member of Serenity Life With Jesus Ministries, she served as a Deaconess in Training and contributed to the Pastors Aid, Benevolence, and Hospitality Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Harold Foster, John L. Foster, Curtis Foster, Jimmie Foster, Dennis Foster, Jean Foster Smith, Hattie M. Foster Byrd, and Raeford Foster, adopted parents Louise and Auzheal Merrell, and adopted siblings Auzheala Bryan and Sharon Merrell. She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-seven years, United States Navy Retired Lieutenant Commander Willie James Jenkins; daughters Tonya Jenkins (Steven) Greene of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, and Tiffany (Terence) Staggs of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; siblings Jerome Foster of Pacolet, South Carolina, Aldra (Brenda) Foster of Jonesville, South Carolina, and Stonewall Foster, Jr. of Pacolet, South Carolina; grandchildren Taylor Greene, Monai (Dilan) Mendez, Brenson Greene, Brooklyn Staggs, Emma Staggs, and Aaron Greene; her Friday Ladies, Belinder (Bobby) Twitty, Dorothy (Zion) Patrick, and Sarah Lark; adopted sisters Peggy Clement and Janice Stuckey; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Judy peacefully entered eternal rest on March 8, 2026. Her life was a beautiful reflection of grace, strength, love, and dedication to those she held dear, leaving behind a legacy of elegance, kindness, and cherished memories.
