Judy Ann Hamilton, born Judy Ann Bruce in Chicago to Edward Willett Bruce and Dorothy Marie Hecht Bruce, passed away on March 13, 2026. She always considered Chicago her hometown, yet made Michigan her home after coming to the state to attend Michigan State University. Following college and marriage, she settled in Mason, where she lived for more than six decades.
Judy worked in sales at Jacobson's East Lansing store from 1978 to 1990, and later served as volunteer coordinator for the Lansing Salvation Army until her retirement in 1998. A lifelong Spartan basketball fan and patron of the Wharton Center, she also held a deep love for classical piano. She was known as a gifted cook, gracious entertainer, skilled organizer, and natural connector, remaining active in the life of River Terrace Church.
She is survived by her husband, William E. Hamilton; her daughter, Barbara Kessel of Traverse City (Patrick Kessel); her son, John Gordon of Traverse City (Jeannie Gordon); and her granddaughters, Jody Burns, Allie Kessel, Brenna Hudgens, Hannah Hudgens, and Allison Gray Johnson.
