Judith Goodwin Waits

Judith Goodwin Waits, 83, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born on January 7, 1943, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she lived a life defined by her independent spirit, compassion, and deep appreciation for the things that brought her happiness. Judith found great joy in playing tennis, traveling with friends, and painting, while deriving profound fulfillment from her career as a nurse at the VA, where she cared for those who had served their country.

She was preceded in death by her son, Channing Waits. Judith is survived by her son, Bryan Waits, and his wife, Tina; her grandchildren, Kirsten Waits, Caitlin Waits, William Waits, Channing Curtis, and Alex Curtis; along with extended family and friends. In keeping with her wishes, a private service will be held at a later date near Birmingham, Alabama.

Judith will be remembered fondly by those who knew her for her independent nature, her caring heart, and the quiet joy she found in her many passions throughout her life.
