August 18, 1939 March 8, 2026

San Antonio, TX

Judith Elizabeth “Judy” Olson, 86, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Eastham, Massachusetts, and Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away on March 8, 2026.

Born on August 18, 1939, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Arne and Helen Bergman, Judy was the second of five children. A lifelong Lutheran, she served her church with quiet devotion, participating in the Altar Guild, as a Lay Reader, in the choir, teaching Sunday School, and through Stephen Ministry. She also delivered Meals on Wheels and helped wherever she saw a need.

Judy trained as an LPN/LVN, graduating first in her class in Hanover, Pennsylvania, where she received the program’s highest honors. She was a compassionate and well-loved nurse whose patients held her in special regard. In addition to her nursing work, she volunteered with the Red Cross, organizing blood drives, and with the American Cancer Society, transporting patients to treatments and appointments. She later continued her nursing career on Cape Cod before retiring in 2006 in Eastham, Massachusetts.

She is survived by her four children and their families: Susan Moul and her husband, Jason, of Glenville, Pennsylvania; James Olson and his wife, Annie, of Helotes, Texas; Kristine Maassen of St. Paul, Minnesota; and David Olson and his wife, Katie, of Raleigh, North Carolina; as well as two sisters, Janet Axelson and her husband, Bruce, of Worcester, Massachusetts, and June Stimson and her husband, Paul, of Rochdale, Massachusetts; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her former husband, The Rev. Richard M. Olson, her parents, sisters Joan Nelson and Jean Larson, brother-in-law Carl Nelson, son-in-law Bret Maassen, and grandson Jeffrey Olson.
