Judith Garrity ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Viegut Funeral Home on Mar. 13, 2026.Judith Ann Garrity, a devoted wife, mother, sister, and faithful servant of the Church, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, following a brief illness. She was 78 years old.Born on June 11, 1947, in Denver, Colorado, to Vincent and Bertha Baginski, Judy grew up with a deep-seated kindness and selflessness that would come to define her entire life. She shared a lifelong bond with her brother Tom, her only sibling.Judy's life changed forever when she met Kevin Garrity. The two were married in Colorado Springs on June 6, 1973, the day of his graduation from the United States Air Force Academy, beginning a nearly 53-year journey as inseparable life partners. As the wife of an Air Force officer, Judy navigated the unique challenges of military life with resilience and grace. With every move, she transformed a house into a warm and loving home, ensuring her children felt confident and fearless.Education was Judy's professional calling. She earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Long Beach State University. It was during her undergraduate studies in Aix-en-Provence, France, that she fell in love with the French language-a passion she turned into a 30-year career as a high school French teacher across nearly a dozen schools. Notably, while stationed at Howard Air Force Base – Canal Zone with her family, Judy served as an English as a Second Language instructor to U.S. Army personnel at Fort Clayton in the Panama Canal Zone.Above all, Judy was defined by her love for her family. She was the proud mother of Colleen, Patrick, and Rory, and the doting grandmother to Henry, Poppy, and Willow. Her grandchildren were truly the light of her life, and she took immense joy in their every accomplishment. At home, Judy was the ultimate caregiver, happiest when surrounded by her family and ensuring that everyone was comfortable, well-fed, and without worry.A woman of profound faith, Judy was a devout Catholic and a constant presence at St. John the Evangelist in Loveland. She attended daily Mass and found great strength and community in her beloved rosary group. She is survived by her devoted husband, Kevin; her brother, Tom; her children, Colleen, Patrick (Paula), and Rory; and her three cherished grandchildren, Henry, Poppy, and Willow. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Bertha.Judy leaves behind a legacy of devotion to Christ and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.
