February 17, 1937— March 5, 2026
Blue Springs, MO
Judith Ann Banks, lovingly known as Judy, passed away on March 5, 2026, in Blue Springs, Missouri, surrounded by her family. Born on February 17, 1937, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, she moved with her family to Kansas City. She graduated from Central High School in 1955 and married her husband, Scottie Eugene Banks, on March 1, 1957.
A devoted homemaker, Judy centered her life on caring for her family. She found great pleasure in gardening, floral arranging, painting, rug hooking, and quilting, each one a reflection of her creative spirit and artistic talent. Above all, she cherished her roles as grandmother and great-grandmother, finding deep joy in time spent with her loved ones.
Judy was a lifetime member of the Community of Christ. She also served as former President of the Independence Young Matrons and devoted many hours to the Questers, helping to preserve and care for the Bingham Wagner House.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn (Greg) Andrews and LeeAnn (Jon) Lewis; her grandchildren, Haylee (Justin) Walker, Connor Andrews, and Jillian Lewis; and her great-grandchildren, Gemma Lee Walker and Whit Walker. She is also survived by her sister, Linda DeHart. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Scottie, her parents, Damon and Rose Hepple, and her sister, Betsy Adkins. Those who knew her will remember her as witty, determined, and deeply inspiring in her love of creating and caring for others. Her proudest accomplishment was her family, who will carry her values and memory forward.
