Judith Salmon ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by George Lopes Funeral Home - Mattapan on Mar. 9, 2026.Judith Loraine Salmon née Webb - lovingly known as Judi - passed away on March 03, 2026, leaving behind a world made more beautiful by her presence. She was born on May 19,1948, in Stamford, Connecticut, to Rosetta Webb and William H. Webb Sr. Judi spent her formative years rooted in the warmth of Connecticut, were the foundation of who she would become was lovingly laid. As a young woman she made her way to Boston, Massachusetts and its outlying areas, where she planted herself firmly and called home for the rest of her adult life.Judi was a woman of extraordinary gifts, many of which were lovingly passed down to her through her mother. She sang in many choirs, filling rooms with the kind of music that stayed with you long after the last note faded. She was a self-taught interior and exterior designer with a natural eye for beauty, a gifted designer of clothing, and a gourmet cook whose table was always worth gathering around. She proudly supported her mother's catering business, pouring her talents into every detail. Her passion for collecting antiques was more than a hobby - it was an extension of her artistry, breathing new life into treasured pieces and weaving history into every space she touched. Throughout her life, Judi served many organizations with dedication and professionalism, ultimately crowning her career with ten distinguished years at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, where she brought that same passion and commitment she gave to everything she touched. Grounded in her Seventh-day Adventist faith, Judi understood that God had gifted her with a rare and powerful gift - she was a master of influence. Like the great persuaders of Scripture, she moved hearts and minds with divine intention, disarming in her softness and unstoppable in her boldness. She moved through the world bending it ever so slightly to her will - not for her own glory, but to draw people closer to what truly mattered, always with love as her compass. She was, in every sense, an instrument of God's own design. She loved people deeply, and people felt it. It was the guiding philosophy of her father, William H. Webb Sr., that family knows no halves - that the blending of family is sacred and beautiful thing, and that no sibling would ever be referred to as anything less than whole. Judi embraced this truth wholeheartedly and lived it with every relationship she cherished. It is honored accordingly throughout this obituary.Judi is preceded in death by her mother, Rosetta Webb, her father, William H. Webb Sr., and his beloved wife Delita Webb, Judi's stepmother, her brothers, Larry Webb, Ivan Schmidt Jr., and Gilbert Schmidt; her sister, Conchita Tomaw; her nephew, David Schmidt; and her cherished niece and Goddaughter, Daneesha Lay.She is survived by her husband, Keith Salmon, her brother, Bradford Schmidt; her sister-in-law, Anita Schmidt; her brother, William H. Webb Jr.; her sister, Nancy Marie Dixon; and Darlene, whom Judi held close to her heart and lovingly referred to as her sister-in- law. She is also lovingly survived by her nieces and nephews: Khem Wright (né Jessica), Khala Wright, Michael Webb, Mallory Webb, Pierre Giraud, Conchita Skinner (née Shawn), Ivan Schmidt III, Derrick Schmidt, Scotty Schmidt, Lorna Schmidt, and Kimla Schmidt; as well as cousins, a whole host of great nieces and great nephews, extended family and friends who carry her love and legacy forward. She is further survived by her beloved church family, whose fellowship, faith, and prayers were a constant source of strength and joy throughout her life, and by all whose lives she quietly - and not so quietly - shaped. To send flowers to the family, please visit our floral store. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
