Juanita Dale "Hollifield" Waldrop

Juanita Waldrop, age 72, of Buncombe County, passed away on March 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 12, 1953, to the late James Paul Hollifield and Beth Ruth Suttles, she shared 55 devoted years of marriage with her husband, Kenneth “Ken” Waldrop. For 34 years, Juanita served others with quiet dedication at Smokey Ridge Health & Rehabilitation while remaining a faithful member of Cherith Brook Church. Known for her generous spirit, she consistently placed the needs of others before her own and found joy in traveling, yard sales, and most of all, in the company of her husband, children, and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Hollifield; her mother-in-law, Dollie Waldrop; her father-in-law, Frank Waldrop; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Burrell, Glen Waldrop, and Helen Blaire.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Waldrop; her daughter, Melissa Waldrop of South Toe; her sons, Kenny Waldrop of Burnsville and Matthew Waldrop of Bakersville; her grandchildren, Savannah Buchanan, Lawson Ayers, Dylan Waldrop, Kenzie Waldrop, Abbie Waldrop, and James Waldrop; her brothers, Jerry, Danny, and Kenneth Hollifield; her sisters, Lois Hollifield, Pam Duckett, and Penny Hollifield; and her brother-in-law, Gary Waldrop.
