It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Juanita A. Benavides of Laredo, Texas, who passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Juanita is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Juanita's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Sabino Salazar and Aurora Salazar; her sister Lupita; and her husband Joe. She is survived by: her children, Rene R. Benavides, Daniel D. Benavides and Joanna A. Benavides; and her granddaughter Katelyn M. Richter. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services (1410 Jacaman Rd, Laredo, TX 78041). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels (1410 Jacaman Rd, Laredo, TX 78041). A Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (555 E Del Mar Blvd, Laredo, TX 78041).
