Juana Lopez, age 52, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on March 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 27, 1973, she was a devoted wife to her husband, Gerardo Lopez, and a loving mother to her three children, Janie, Angel, and Arturo, who were the center of her life and her greatest motivation.
She is survived by her siblings Eugenio, Fidencio, Lucy, Emy, and Cecilia. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Jaime.
A woman of deep faith, Juana lived in a way that reflected the love of Christ in all she did. As a proud Cursillista, her faith guided both her actions and her relationships. She generously volunteered at church events and was always ready to help others with kindness, compassion, and an open heart. Family was everything to her. She cherished quiet moments with her sisters over coffee and conversation, found joy in flowers and life’s simple beauties, and created countless cherished memories for her children, most notably the loving birthday parties she planned for them each year.
Those who knew Juana will remember her as incredibly kind, genuine, and full of faith—someone through whom Christ’s love truly shone. She lived trusting in God’s plan and often reminded others of her deepest belief with the words “Primero Dios.” Her family mourns her deeply yet finds comfort knowing she rests in the presence of the Lord, and that her love and faith will remain forever in their hearts.
