Born with a visionary spirit, Rosendo distinguished himself as a pioneer in educational development in Tamaulipas. He founded the Instituto Internacional de Estudios Superiores (IIES) in Reynosa, an institution that became a benchmark for professional formation and quality education with a strong commitment to social responsibility. Through leadership, perseverance, and an unwavering belief in the transformative power of learning, he opened doors for thousands of young people and contributed significantly to the educational and social progress of Reynosa and the state of Tamaulipas. His legacy endures in the educational institutions he built, the students he inspired, and the community that benefited from his vision and dedication.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rosendo Martínez, and his brother, Carlos Martínez. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Elena McDonald de Martínez; his sons, Rosendo (Jimena) Martínez, Diego (Karla) Martínez, and Rodrigo Martínez; his grandchildren, María Isabel, Loretta, Ángela, Diego, and Daniela; his mother, Gladys Gómez Rejón de Martínez; his sisters, Gladys, Sylvia, and Rosa Laura Martínez; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever honor his memory with love and gratitude.
