November 6, 1984— March 5, 2026
Turlock, CA
Juan "Jay" Lopez Chacon Jr. was born on November 6, 1984, at Alexian Brothers Hospital and passed away on March 5, 2026, at Emanuel Medical Center at the age of 41. Known for his vibrant personality and deep love for his family, Jay grew up in California and attended Ceres High School and Argus High. He worked as a restaurant manager until the time of his passing, having previously held roles in childcare and event planning.
On April 7, 2012, Jay married the love of his life, Allen John Herrera II, at the Turlock Fair Grounds Hall. Together they built a life filled with love and laughter while raising their daughters, Angelique and Evangelina. Jay had a passion for bingo, dancing, and interior design, with a remarkable talent for transforming spaces into warm and welcoming environments that made every gathering memorable. In recent years he especially enjoyed visiting casinos and playing bingo, activities he continued to cherish despite health challenges. He and his family created countless joyful moments together.
An adventurous spirit, Jay loved exploring new places and discovering exceptional local restaurants. He had a special gift for finding the best hole-in-the-wall spots during travels that took the family across California, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, and Texas. Among his favorite places were Renato's Pizza in San Jose, where he relished the shrimp and chorizo pizzas, King Eggroll for their shrimp balls, Bag of Burgers, Mark's Hot Dogs, and Ella Em's Soul Food in Las Vegas, where he always ordered the fried catfish with mac and cheese.
Jay is survived by his husband, Allen Herrera II; daughters, Angelique Chacon and Evangelina Chacon; mother, Amelia J. Chacon; father, Juan L. Chacon Sr.; and siblings, Lisa Serrano, Charles Serrano, Miguel A. Chacon, and Alejandro A. Chacon. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Angela and Augustine Delagrande.
