Joyce Ruth Cook was born January 17, 1939, to the parentage of the late Sterling andMinnie Lee Menkins in Freestone County, Texas. She attended Kilpatrick High Schooland started working in restaurants as a cook shortly afterwards. Joyce was known inher community as Mrs. Cook the Candy Lady. She was a lifetime resident of theNorthside of Fort Worth living on Loving Ave. You could always find her sittingunderneath the pecan tree with her Aunt Sug or waving at you from the front porch.Joyce loved to dress and wouldn't go without her eyelashes and rouge. She enjoyedher family and going to all their parties, the dance floor was her friend.Joyce is proceeded in death by her father and mother Sterling and Minnie Menkins, herbrother LV Menkins, sister Doris Stewart, her sons Lloyd and Tony Cook.She leaves to cherish her daughters Renda Sherman (Michael), Sythia Diduch, sisterDaisy Johnson, bothers Dean (Diane), Nathaniel (Barbara) and Sterling Menkins alongwith a host of grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
