Joyce Rea Davis, age 80, of Big Creek, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on March 11, 2026. Born on September 18, 1945, in Botto, Kentucky, she was the cherished daughter of the late John Henry and Lola Holland Ghent.
Joyce was the devoted wife of the late Finley Davis, with whom she shared a life filled with love, faith, and family. She was a proud and loving mother to her children: Charles Finley Davis and wife Mona, James Russell Davis and wife Melissa, John Wesley Davis and wife Leslie, all of Manchester; Peggy Lynn Sutherland and husband Chris of London; and Susie Darlene Ball of McKee. Her legacy lives on through her many grandchildren: Jonathan Davis, Justin Davis, Landon Davis, Shelby Davis, Kaitlyn (Brad) Davidson, Sarah (Josh) Murray, Kelsey (Noah) Day, Tyler (Megan) Ball, Matthew Ball, Whitney (Keaton) Cheek, Tyler (Megan) Gibson, Jacob (Nikita) Gibson, and Kristopher Gibson; and her precious great-grandchildren, Avery Davidson and Zoey Murray.
She is also survived by her beloved sisters: Linda Wombles and husband Russell of London, Lorene Hicks of London, and Lona Cornett and husband Oliver Landis II of Manchester. Joyce was preceded in death by her siblings Carl Ghent, Doris Sizemore, and Eunice Davidson, as well as her dear daughter Lisa Ruth, her son-in-law Randy Ball, and her grandchild Aidan Wesley Davis. Their memories remain forever in the hearts of those who loved them.
Joyce’s warmth, kindness, and abiding love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, strength, and devotion will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
