Joyce Marie Bishop Cash

Joyce Marie Bishop Cash, age 75 of Kenly, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 7, 1950, in Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Lois Bishop. A hardworking and strong woman, Marie retired from the Wake County School System after many years of dedicated service. She found great joy in the outdoors, particularly camping and cooking over an open fire during campouts. Those who knew her quickly recognized her caring and loving nature, which touched everyone around her. Above all, she cherished her family and her husband Bill, who preceded her in death in 2014.

She is survived by her son, Ray Bass of Kenly; her daughter, Tammie Bass of Selma; six grandchildren, Gwendolyn Bass, Tamarah Bass, Linwood Bass Jr., Joshua Bass, Colby Patrick, and Jacob McDaniel-Bass; ten great-grandchildren; and her brother, Joe Bishop and his wife Faye of Kittrell.
