January 10, 1932— March 8, 2026
Brigham City, UT
Joyce Harmon, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at her home in Brigham City, surrounded by her loving family. Blind from macular degeneration for many years, she faced every challenge with remarkable courage and dignity, continuing each day to dress herself and care for her family and home. A friend to everyone she met, Joyce lived with quiet strength and deep devotion to those she loved.
Born on January 10, 1932, in Brigham City, Utah, she was the daughter of Othello Bodily and Almeada Jane Hadfield Stokes. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1950. On November 29, 1952, she married Earl Wendell Harmon in Las Vegas, Nevada. Wendell preceded her in death on July 1, 1999.
Joyce worked for the telephone company for thirty years, retiring in 1982. A longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Brigham City 8th Ward, she found joy in playing bridge, traveling, and above all, in her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Renee (Steve) Cazier of Layton, Utah, and Scott Earl Harmon of Jackson, Wyoming; her siblings, Alan (Ann) Stokes of West Jordan, Utah, and Colleen Hamson of Brigham City, Utah; and her grandchildren, Nate Cazier, Marcus Cazier, Andrew Cazier, Aly Harmon, and Pace Harmon. She also cherished Steve and Angie Blanchard’s children as her own. She was preceded in death by her husband Wendell, her granddaughter Crystal Cazier, and her brother Dallas Stokes.
