Burns Smith, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Laughlin Heathcare while surrounded by loved ones. She confessed salvation at a young age at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bud" Smith; daughter, Loretta "Snookie" McCracken; son-in-law, Jeff Smith; parents, Luther and Bessie Burns; sisters, Helen (Ronnie) Morelock, Kathy Heck, Brenda Cooter; brothers, JC (Geneva) Burns and Kelly Burns.She is survived by her children; daughters, Darlene Smith, Trish (Gary) Shaw, Lisa (Mike) Luster; son, Tim (Judy) Smith; son-in-law, Tim McCracken; grandchildren, Steve (Ruby) Smith, Ashley (Nick) Lawson, Megan (Stephen) Adams, Casey Smith, Caleb (Tori) Smith, Cody (Haley) Smith, Audrey Smith, and Kaite Luster; 12 great children; brothers, Pete (Linda) Burns and Vernon (Sue) Burns; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Laughlin Healthcare and Gentiva Hospice for the loving and compassionate care.The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Wednesday, March 18th at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral ceremony will begin at 7pm with Rev. Norman Sauceman officiating. Burial will take place at 11am on Thursday, March 19th at Providence County Line Cemetery.
