She was the beloved wife of Lewis Howard Christy for 69 years - a partnership marked by steady commitment, humor, tenderness, and enduring and steadfast love.Together, they raised four children - Lewis, Apryl, Lynette, and Erin - and built a family that now spans 27 descendants. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward her values of kindness, resilience, and compassion.Joyce believed deeply in education, lifelong learning, and personal growth. She often said, "Education is the one gift you give yourself that no one can ever take from you." She instilled in her descendants a love of reading, curiosity about the world, and the confidence to pursue their ambitions.Service and dedication marked much of Joyce's life. For many years, she volunteered with the Red Cross, giving her time and heart to those in need. In 1982, she earned her Associate's Degree as a paralegal from Rose State College, embodying her belief that education and growth never end. She later worked alongside her son, Lewis, for many years at Master Tech Transmissions, supporting both family and business with quiet strength. She was also deeply involved in helping raise many of her grandchildren, offering them not only care, but guidance, stability, and love that will echo for generations.Joyce modeled integrity and grace. She taught her family to treat others as they wish to be treated, to take the high road, and to have empathy and compassion for others. She instilled a deep commitment to service, teaching her family that a life well-lived is one that makes a difference in the lives of others.Joyce's gentle wisdom shaped not only her children but also her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took joy in watching the next generations grow, and reminded her family to be curious about people and the world around them.Joyce was a devoted and loving grandmother, known for her heartfelt embraces and warm smiles.Joyce and Lewis' marriage was the epitome of enduring love. After 69 years together, Joyce and Lewis could still be seen holding hands and sharing a quiet understanding that only a lifetime together can create.
