Joyce Ann Roark

Joyce Ann Childers Roark, 84, of Kings Mountain, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, North Carolina.

Born in Kings Mountain, she was the beloved wife of Richard Don Roark and the daughter of the late John Emmett and Cora Ethel Farris Childers. A longtime member of David Baptist Church, Joyce retired as office manager from Foust Textiles. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved God and her family with her whole heart.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; daughters, Lisa Ann Roark Howell (Mark) and Donna Marie Roark; grandchildren, Zachary Alan Howell (Kayla), Alex Ryan Howell (Stephanie), and Nicholas Christian Howell (Carli); great-grandchildren, Luke Alexander Howell, Lydia Nicole Howell, Rylee Kate Howell (expected in May), and another great-grandchild expected in October; and her faithful dog, Sophie. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mick Caldwell, Faye Lovelace, Dot Spearman, and Betty Childers.
