Joy Nell Anderton

Joy Nell Anderton, 57, of Hartselle, passed away on March 13, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on July 31, 1968, in Morgan County, she was the daughter of Thomas Jackson Wasson and Opal Louise Burns Wasson. She spent her life in Hartselle, where she worked at Zaxby's doing prep work and took great joy in her job.

Joy was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt who cherished her family above all else. She held a special place in her heart for her niece and nephews, loving them deeply and finding great happiness in their lives. Her father preceded her in death.

She is survived by her mother, Opal Louise Burns Wasson; her sister, Sharon Penrod; and several nephews and one niece whom she adored.
