She was born on Wednesday, October 31, 1945, in Winnfield, Louisiana, and remained a lifelong resident of the community she loved.Joy was a proud graduate of Winnfield High School and continued her education at Northeast Louisiana University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She devoted 40 years of her life to teaching in Winn Parish Schools, leaving a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. Her commitment to education was not only a profession but a calling. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, reflecting her dedication to excellence in teaching and the support of fellow educators.A gifted musician, Joy found great joy in music and could often be found playing the piano, trombone, organ, or guitar. She had a deep appreciation for her heritage and was especially proud of her Keyes family roots and their connection to the Sardis community. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her beloved family.She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Keyes and Evelyn Evans Keyes, and her husband, Kenneth Jordan.Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Noelle Jordan; her sons, Joel Heath Jordan and Joshua Shane Jordan; her grandchildren, Joseph Terry (a special grandson), Nicholas Walker, Devan Businelle, Taylor Grace Jordan, and Brandon Michael Jordan; and her great-grandchildren, Rafe Leevi Terry, Gracelinn Walker, Brielle Walker, Mallory Walker, and Brayden Kayne Walker, along with a host of extended family and friends.Pallbearers will be Joseph Terry, Nicholas Walker, Devan Businelle, Stacey Harper, Dante Fox, and Rafe Terry. Honorary pallbearers will be Colvin Garrett, Rev. Danny Keyes, and Russell Evans.Visitation will be held at Southern Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brad Jones officiating.
