January 27, 1937— March 11, 2026
Oak Ridge, TN
Joy Dale (Havins) Snyder was born on January 27, 1937, in San Angelo, Texas, to Christine Marie (Padgett) Havins and Raymond Truitt Havins. She passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by the love of her family.
A long-time resident of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Joy spent her final three years in the devoted care of her son Andy Rogers and his wife Sonja at their home in Corryton, Tennessee. She was a loving and caring mother whose life was marked by kindness, strength, and unwavering faith. She introduced her children to God early in life and remained steadfast in her beliefs through every challenge. Joy possessed a natural gift for hospitality, welcoming all who entered her home, and she was deeply loved by everyone who knew her.
Her greatest joy came from her family. She took immense pride in her roles as a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle spirit, comforting words, wit, and laughter, as well as the many positive memories she created with those she loved.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred Leonard Snyder, and her sister Lawana Leftwich. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Dana and Al Werkheiser, Danny and Jil Rogers, and Andy and Sonja Rogers; her sister June Neal; stepchildren Vicki Kahle, David Snyder, and Jon Snyder; grandchildren Ashley Meibaum, Lindsay Young, Courtney Koehn, and Jordan Rogers; and many other relatives and dear friends who will forever treasure the time they shared with her.
