Joy Ann Amundsen
January 1, 1929— March 7, 2026
Windsor, CA
Joy Ann Amundsen, age 96, passed away in Windsor on March 7, 2026. Born in Oakland in 1929, she was the daughter of James and Helen Leslie. She attended Catholic High School in Oakland and graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute. She raised six children and later worked in procurement for design firms.
Joy lived in Belvedere-Tiburon and Mercer Island in Seattle. She volunteered with the Seattle Symphony and several Episcopal churches in California and Washington, including All Saints in Carmel and The Church of the Incarnation in Santa Rosa.
She possessed exquisite taste and a remarkable eye for design. She held a deep love for art, music, reading, gardening, and nature, especially her visits to Banff, Alberta. She enjoyed camping and exploring the outdoors in Washington and California, and while living in Carmel she cherished her daily walks along the beach. Above all, she loved being a mother; her children were the light of her life. She supported each of them with grace and generosity throughout their lives, and her spirit will remain with them always.
Joy will be deeply missed and always remembered.
