Joshua Wayne Richardson

Joshua W. Richardson, 46, of Buchanan, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2026. Born on April 26, 1979, he was preceded in death by his father, Paul Richardson, and his mother, Cynthina Scherrer.

Throughout his career, Josh worked as a chef, taking genuine pride in creating dishes that brought joy to others and expressing his creativity in the kitchen. He was a funny, friendly man who never met a stranger. An avid movie watcher who loved all kinds of music, he cherished his dog, Lady Bird, and remained a devoted Raiders fan—proudly never a Cowboys supporter. With a big heart and an adventurous spirit, Josh lived openly, with humor and honesty, sometimes to a fault.

Above all, he deeply loved his niece and nephews and treasured every moment spent with them. They will forever remember his laughter, his steady presence, and the way he made them feel special. He is survived by his brother, Roger (Leeann) Alcala of New Carlisle, and his nieces and nephews: Dakota (Lexi), Bishop (Kileigh), Duston, and Emilee. Josh will be greatly missed by his family as well as the many close friends and adopted nieces and nephews he gathered throughout his life.
