Joshua Robert Pomerinke

April 3, 1986 March 8, 2026

Milford, UT

Joshua Robert Pomerinke, age 39, passed away on March 8, 2026 in Milford, Utah. Born on April 3, 1986 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Stan Pomerinke and Cynthia Davis, Josh entered the world seven weeks premature. Tiny yet determined, that early strength became a defining trait that carried him through life.

He attended Minersville Elementary, Fiddler’s Elementary in Cedar City, and Beaver High School, where he graduated in 2004. A gifted and dedicated athlete, Josh played football, basketball, and baseball, excelling in the outfield where his powerful arm was known for throwing runners out at home plate from deep centerfield. He formed lifelong friendships through sports and found joy in the outdoors, whether fishing in the creek after school, hunting, hiking with his father and brothers, or searching for rocks and treasures in the hills.

At the end of high school, Josh met the love of his life, Kayla Stapley. Together they had two sons, Kraeton Pomerinke and Krypton Smith, and though their path had ups and downs, Josh remained devoted to his family. He cherished his role as a father and took great pride in being a protective and guiding older brother to Tricia, Braiden, and Colton. Known for his contagious laugh, warm smile, and generous spirit, Josh was kind, thoughtful, and always willing to help others. He worked hard in many fields, including pig farms, post cutting, oil rigs, concrete, and mine maintenance, approaching each task with determination and a willingness to learn.

Josh is survived by his wife, Kayla; parents, Stan and Christy Pomerinke and Cynthia and Adam Davis; siblings, Tricia (Chuck) Mason, Braiden (Makell) Pomerinke, and Colton (Harlea) Pomerinke; sons, Kraeton Pomerinke and Krypton Smith; grandparents, Nolan and Iva Davis; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Penny Yardley and Wayne and Merle Gillins.
